movement in a radically opposite sense.
if you notice how our eyes take in and register a light. perhaps streaming in
through a window. or illuminating from above you. or a candle.
now a thing about a fancy infa-red image, the ones that fancy soldiers cliques
have. similarly a heat registering camera. that is how crows see the world.
so its no wonder that every night they fly away from the blinding light of
the sun. its a pretty solid rule that you would not point any previously
mentioned items at the sun, as it would probably burn your retinas. or at least
leave those little white jiggiling things in your view for a while.
and they probably can use its exact position (the suns firely light)
behind its body with its eyes conveniently located in a place where it can
see from the side of its head. and the front of its head.
most birds or animals do not have the choice to have vision that wraps around
its head, then also being able to switch to a vision similar to ours. they just
get one or the other.
with incredibly vision for hunting, similar to a hawk or egal. there is a
fall back. with out the natural aide of the natural shadow and glow of the
sun. they cannot see. so they yell. the call to one another as loud as they
can.
east Vancouver is eubiquitous for its crow flock. the flight path of one of
the largest collectons of crows passed by a section of undevelopable city.
for a long time. nothing in the east side of the city was higher then 4
stories. there were not many high rises, so the sight line to the mountains was
fairly uninterrupted.
there were many distingusible shadows cast on the ground, from the shorter
sky reaching structures. therefor making it easier to maneuver through the
density of the city.
but street lights do not result in the same shadow cast. its not as fixed,
and permenant in place. the shadow is unpredictable. this shadow follows a line.
it has an unbroken mission. and this stability is what guides the crows to their
home.
a giant gathering place for these ocullarly challenged birds.
crows still can see quite well during night fall, but their skills in flight
and agility are rendered useless without the sight to accompany it. it is more
useful for them to sleep.
but why do they gather together? who knows. crows brains need stimulation as
much as the next persons. being social makes you smarter.
crows brains are very different then humans. they see all lights and movement in a radically opposite sense.

they follow the rise and fall of our dense living. swerving through sky scrappers to eat our garbage from our hands. now that we don't die in large numbers. we produce garbage at high quantities. either way. its a perfectly symbiotic relationship.
now I realize why people fear crows. its a perfect garuntee that crows will always be fed around humans. because crows like racoons they are the perfect scavenger. weather they eat our garbage or bodies. they will always be fed. and when we die, all we know is. shit eats us.
